"Ding" Darling Wildlife Society's support of annual and one-time events is two-fold: education and fundraising.
Our big annual "Ding" Darling Day typically takes place mid-October to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week and the birthday of our namesake, Jay Norwood "Ding" Darling. This year, because of COVID-19, it will take place December 1 as part of the Refuge's 75th Anniversary Celebration.
In May, our "Ding" Darling & Doc Ford's Tarpon Tournament both educates and supports the Refuge. Generous sponsors and silent auction donors help us raise more than $100,000 each year while we further conservation awareness in the "catch, care, release" competition.
We hold our biggest annual fundraiser each February. Go Wild for "Ding" brings supporters and friends together for an evening of live entertainment, local restaurant delicacies, and silent and live auctions.
